Jason Macaya spent much of his youth surrounded by abundant natural beauty. Born in California and raised on the West Coast (from Santiago de Chile to Portland, Oregon), he earned a BA in Theatre Arts at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He currently lives in the expansive, enigmatic city of Los Angeles where canyons of concrete multiply endlessly and seas of people teem in wary symbiosis. Ever observant of his surroundings, Jason utilizes the colors, lines, and light of his past and present environments to create stained glass-like tableaus evoking the ubiquitous conflict of Man vs. Nature.
Jason has exhibited in several emerging galleries and prominent events throughout Los Angeles and beyond. His work resides in numerous private collections.
